A Woman's Right

American Donna Barr is a professional comics artist.

I am a 54-year-old woman, living in Clallam Bay, Washington, in the United States. I have been married to one man since the day Nixon left office. However, both he and I have agreed that we would have married if we were the same sex, different species, or different varieties of the same kind of melon. My sexuality depends on whom I love - not with whom I am having sex.

I am an author of a number of long-running drawn book ("comic book") series. I have recently discovered that I can draw and write the most absolutely delicious Hentai (a vibrant version of the quickly-spreading Japanese Yaoi form, or male-to-male sex.). Yes, tying up boys (albeit obviously mature boys) and men and making them humiliate and violently penetrate one another - to the delight of one and all, including, in the end (ahem), the actors themselves. Depending on one's viewpoint, the stories will either make you gag or giggle. If you think anything but vanilla sex is icky, go away. This is ice cream with Tobasco sauce.

The UK government's proposal to ban 'violent pornography' is plain silly. Reading things on paper or on a screen fulfills a need very nicely, thank you, for women as well as men. For those people who feel the need to do something scary or dangerous, reading about safe, intelligent ways of fulfilling those needs with willing, educated partners is far better than going out in ignorance and forcing and killing unwilling partners. A little fantasy goes a long way.

The brain is the most important sexual organ. The people in the UK government should let us use our brains - and use theirs.

Shooting the Messenger

The internet is a convenient scapegoat for society's ills.

The UK government is to legislate how best to imprison potentially many people for viewing content on the internet.

How should governments regulate the details of our personal lives and control individual expression ?

Preserve Individual Freedoms

Backlash campaigns to ensure the right remedies are applied to the right problems.

Whilst doing so we preserve hard won individual rights and liberties.

See no evil.

The government doesn't want you to view certain images. And will send you to prison if you possess them. Even in the privacy of your own home.
