Responses to the Home Office consultation

The Home Office will roll their proposals into a Criminal Justice Bill expected in 2007.

The Home Office finally published their analysis and decisionfollowing receipt of responses to the consultation document five months late at the end of August.

They were, er, a trifle preoccupied with other problems.

Scottish Executive

The Scottish Executive have published a summary and the individual responses they received - at least, those that got through the firewall blocking "inappropriate words" - and backlash made an independent analysis.

We understand the civil servants' evaluation has been submitted to Ministers for consideration and the intention is to publish recommendations before Parliament goes on holiday for the summer in July.
